Home Space
Students enrolled in a course in the Faculty of Education, are allocated 60Mb
of disk space on the network as their Home space or H: drive. Students enrolled
in a course from another faculty, but are currently undertaking an Education
unit, will have their Home space called Y: drive. Your Home space should only
be used for study-related work.
Managing Your Files
It is up to you to manage your home space files. Files in your home space may
be purged at the end of semester. Always back-up your data by copying files
to floppy disk or burning them on to a CDROM. You can also copy files, using
FTP, between your home space and another computer if you dial-in to QUT with
a modem or dial up your own Internet Service Provider then use VPN
to get access to QUT. Having your own computer and a modem can help your study
at QUT.
Web Pages
Web Publishing is provided if your study requires it. There is special 'my
webs' folder in your home space. Files placed in that folder are accessable
via the web.
- The web address for your pages will be:
http://students.ed.qut.edu.au/n1234567
where n1234567 is
your student number.
- The web address for a list of the students in your unit with a link to their
web pages is:
http://students.ed.qut.edu.au/xyz123
where
xyz123 is
the unit code.
